It's been 2 weeks since our dossier was sent off to Ethiopia. Hopefully it's arrived safely and been translated at this point. I'm afraid I won't have many updates now until we get our referral.
I'm keeping busy this week volunteering for the Democratic National Convention. (Check our other blog this week for pictures.) Marc has just started back to school (teaching, not attending). I'm also updating our Etsy site. I should have some new products later this week and am working with my friend Danielle of Ethiopian Orphan Relief to figure out some sort of discount or money donated to EOR with each purchase. Stay tuned...that should be happening in the next few weeks.

More jewelry coming soon!
This week I'm meeting with Karen - whom I affectionately call "The Jewelry Lady" - she is the talent behind the lovely charms you've seen. So I should have some adorable new pieces to put up on Etsy in a few days. Let me know if there's anything you just can't live without. We've had such great feedback on these pieces. Each one comes out different and prettier than the last, so you're sure to enjoy it - and get lots of compliments too! If you have an idea of what you want, but don't see it on Etsy, just email me. Chances are if you can dream it, Karen can make it a reality.

It's finally here!!!
I finally stole some time this week to list some of the new pieces of jewelry on Etsy. Tell me what you think. I've never done anything like this before, and I'm so pleased with the way it turned out. I have a lot more to put up there, but I am out of time for now. So be sure to check back in a few weeks for some new - and snarkier (is that a word?) - items. Most of the pieces up now are fun or sweet, but several are also centered around Africa, since that's where our hearts are these days. Here's a piece I did for a local couple who also adopted from Ethiopia... (I blurred out her name for privacy)
The keychains we designed came out great too!
The best thing is that they are completely customizable. They can be made with a picture of you and your sweetheart, your kids, pet, family, you name it. I can do an old vintage black and white photo with a funny quote, a word with a definition, or just about anything you can think of.
This and a mountain of dossier paperwork should certainly keep my mind busy for awhile! :)
