Travel Journal ~ April 24th

We left Awassa early this morning to come back to Addis. It was another long drive. Abera stopped at the camel crossing again and we hopped out to take a photo. A teenage shepherd came running up and got in the photo with us. He thought it was hilarious to see himself on the digital camera. He did ask for 10 birr...enterprising young man.

I never would have thought that we'd come across this guy on the side of a road. I guess I imagined one would have to travel hours into the bush off the beaten path to find a guy who dressed in traditional garb and shepherded camels. The whole trip to Awassa was kind of like that.

We arrived back in Addis late Friday afternoon and had lunch at (in?) this airplane restaurant.
I had super spicy doro wat...yum!

We hung out at the guesthouse for the rest of the afternoon preparing for our big day to follow where we'd finally meet our new children!
