Clerical error

My SW got a call back from USCIS. They made a clerical error on the I-171h. The 3rd box should have been checked instead of the 1st. They'll be getting a new one out to us ASAP.

I received my 4th (and hopefully final) doctor's letter yesterday. They had a new notary sign it this time. I noticed that she printed her name instead of signing it though. This is the reason that the Sec'y of State could not seal Marc's letter. I tracked down the notary and asked her to sign it. She, very coldly, told me "That IS my signature." I'm guessing the Sec'y of State has signatures on file, so hopefully they will know that is really hers.

Marc is going to pick up his final letter today.

Once we get the new I-171 we'll get them all sealed and off they'll go.

Aren't doc offices the worst? My doc did my exam then went on a two-month leave before she signed my official letter, so I had to see another doc to get his signature. Then my husband's doctor didn't date the letter he signed, so when he took it back, the receptionist dated it in a different pen and handwriting. And don't get me started on police clearance letters. The hoops we jump through...glad you got the error figured out.

LOL Lori - I am right there with ya! The police clearance might have been just as bad as the dr. letter. I've felt like we're "this close" for sooooooooo long.

Hello! You introduced yourselves to me on my blog a while back, and I'm just now getting around to doing the same! We are Jason and Kari from chicagoland and we are right behind you in this crazy adoption adventure! Good luck- hope to see your dossier on it's way to Ethiopia soon! When you go private, I'd love to be invited if that's ok. Kari@abundantlifecc.com

The Dr. letters were a pain, at least the first time we did them. Our Dr. was even so nice and went out to a notary to have them signed (but they were dated incorrectly) so we had to do them again. When we were completing our dosssier for Guatemala, I had to find a travelling notary to go to the Ped. office with my for DD's letter :-p. I hope they accept the notary's signature!

Kellie - we were out of town last week so I didn't get a chance to give you a huge SHOUT OUT CONGRATULATIONS on getting your 171H. That is such great news. Hopefully your dossier will get sent out soon and the rough part will be over.
